So, most of you know I am super into healthy living and using as many “clean” products as possible. Whether that be with cleaning products, foods we consume, etc. I recently started looking into my cosmetics – both skincare and makeup – and to be honest was horrified at how filthy some of my favorite things were. The EWG is a great resource to check ingredients and the cleanliness of products you are using if you are interested in learning more.
As I began to do a little more research on clean cosmetics I began to get a little scared. Did you know that the US hasn’t passed any laws to regulate the safety of cosmetics since the year 1938?! That blew my mind. “Over the past two decades, the European Union has banned more than 1,300 chemicals in the product formulas of personal care products and restricted the levels of over 250 more in such products. The United States has only partially banned 30 to date.” (Source : BC)
I love makeup, especially makeup that performs well. And maybe its awful, but I don’t want to use clean products if they don’t perform well. I had a few people reach out to me and tell me about Beauty Counter and I instantly began researching the company and it’s efforts. And I instantly fell in love. I have a friend who is a consultant who agreed to send me some samples of products and I was hooked. I immediately signed up to be a consultant myself and have switched out nearly everything.
Prior to discovering Beauty Counter, I was using Mary Kay and had been since I was in elementary and middle school. And my skin has always been fairly clear, however I have struggled with adult acne something fierce. I have so much texture and constant breakouts, especially on my forehead. I will tell you right now that over the almost 3 weeks that I have been using these Beauty Counter products daily, my skin has improved exponentially. Both in texture and in breakouts. So I thought today I would share my new skincare routine and the Beauty Counter products that I am absolutely loving!
I start my morning by washing my face with the Nourishing Cream Cleanser followed by the Nourishing Day Cream and Nourishing Eye Cream. Before I apply my makeup I spray my face with a few spritz’s of the Nourishing Rose Water Mist.
I think my favorite product of all is this bad boy. The Cleansing Balm is a Beauty Counter Top Seller and for good reason. This stuff literally just melts your makeup off. I use it for my face and eye makeup and it takes it all right off! After I remove my makeup with the Cleansing Balm, I then wash my face with the Nourishing Cream Exfoliator. It is mild enough that it doesn’t irritate my skin and it doesn’t overly strip it either. It isn’t too harsh to use daily, so I use it at night to get rid of any dead or dry skin.
After I wash and pat my face dry I spray my face with the No. 3 Balancing Facial Mist and apply a few drops of the No. 3 Balancing Facial Oil mixed in with my Nourishing Night Cream. I finish it all off wit the Nourishing Eye Cream and call it a night. A few times a week I have been using the No. 3 Balancing Facial Mask. Y’all. This is a game changer. There has only been one other mask I have ever used that I felt like ACTUALLY did something for my skin and it was the Glamglow mask in the white jar. This is totally comparable to that mask and I also love that it is in a tube. So much more sanitary.
If you have any questions about Beauty Counter you can always shoot me an email cassiereablog at gmail dot com. If you decide to purchase anything you can do so here. You have 60 days to try the products and if you don’t love them you can send them back. You quite literally have nothing to lose.
And as always, because the condition of my heart is far more important than anything I put on my body, I leave you with this. “Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.” I Corinthians 6:19-20
