…SHOP THE POST…
Whether you are in high school, college, or have school aged children, today’s post is for YOU. I’m sharing some of my favorite back to school items and why I love them. Obviously, I don’t have a school aged child and Sadie doesn’t go to daycare or anything and I graduated from college years ago (all the praise hands). So today’s post is all about a few of the items that I know I would have LOVED having when I was in school. Also, this is just such a fun time of year to freshen up your wardrobe and some staple items with fall right around the corner.
1. ID Holder. So this is something that I used ALL the time when I was in college and have recently rediscovered. One of my favorite services is the Target in store pickup (among other stores that offer this as well). I order my items online and just go in store to pick them up and they have them ready for me at the service desk. If you have kids this is a total game changer. I love having this little ID holder for instances like this when I am not going to need the diaper bag or my big purse full of snacks and entertainment. It is totally convenient to just carry this little guy into the store with me. You can even attach your keys to them. So nice. And there are tons of cute patterns as well!
2. A Fun Planner. So I talked in this post about the planner I’ve been loving this year and I totally still love it. I have come across this little planner, though, and it is SO cute. It has so many fun little random holidays included which I think is such a fun touch! Especially when you are stressed with school its nice to have fun little things to celebrate. If you are in college (or high school) this planner would be such a fun one! And it is compact enough to toss in your backpack or purse.
3. A Good Backpack. So I was never super into backpack handbags before I became a mom, but y’all. OMG. How did I survive before the backpack? It is a mom game changer. Totally hands free. I have had my eye on this one for a while and recently bit the bullet and am so glad I did! It is such a timeless and iconic bag. And I love that it is easy to clean. Literally you can just wipe it down.
4. Hunter Boots. This may sound unnecessary, but I swear these are a staple in my wardrobe in the fall and winter. I wear them even when it’s not raining. I recently got Sadie a pair and holy moly. They are the stinking cutest. Every child needs a pair of Hunter boots. Seriously. I can’t wait for all of the little adventures she will have in them! And mom and mini matching?! Done.
So these are a few of my favorite items at the moment. One HUGE tip I have for everyone is to shop the sales and shop around. Sign up for email lists (you can always unsubscribe) and get coupons towards your purchase. Create accounts with retailers and let items sit in your cart for a few days before you purchase. Many retailers will send you an email with a coupon code to entice you to buy the items in your cart. You can also use cash back websites like TopCashback to get money back on your purchases.
And as always, because the condition of my heart is far more important than anything I put on my body, I leave you with this. “For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.” Psalm 1:6
