As I’m sure most of you know by now, I am on my second HG pregnancy. You can read more about my experience here. HG has made it impossible to take a prenatal so for the first almost two trimesters, I’m sad to say I’ve gone without taking one. Before the messages, emails and comments come rolling in about how bad it is not to take a prenatal – I KNOW. My reason for not taking one has been because I literally haven’t been able to. I haven’t found a prenatal I am able to stomach and keep down prior to discovering Premama .
Premama offers a variety of prenatal products and even post delivery products for mama’s. I have been using the Premama Prenatal Drink Mix. It is totally flavorless and my favorite way to use it is to mix it in a smoothie. This is a great way to get extra nutrients + the ones I already need. I have also been using the the Digestive Aid which is a probiotic (can you say, bye bye, pregnancy constipation) and the Premama Energy.
Today I’m excited to share a smoothie recipe that I have been using and loving lately along with a sweet friends smoothie recipe (which is also on rotation in my house). You can find my friend Hannah’s green smoothie here.
1/2 cup frozen mixed berries
1/4 cup pineapple juice
1/2 cup vanilla yogurt
1 packet Premama Prenatal
Mix all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth and desired consistency is reached. Garnish with fresh berries and enjoy! You can also add some spinach in here to get some extra greens if you so wish.

And as always, because the condition of my heart is far more important than anything I put on or in my body, I leave you with this. “For while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.” I Timothy 4:8
